How to set up email in iOS 9

Once you’ve configured and activated your HostPapa email service, you can proceed to set up your email account on your iOS 9 device.

For easy webmail access, you can always use this URL https://mail.papamail.net/ from any browser if you’re subscribed to our Basic or Advanced email services. If you wish to access webmail on your shared hosting plan, you can do that via https://webmail.yourdomain.com or this one https://yourdomain.com/webmail from any browser.

To start, tap the Settings button on the home screen.

Now tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap Add Account.

A list of email providers will appear.

For HostPapa POP3 and IMAP accounts, select Other.

Now tap Add Mail Account.

Enter the following details:

  1. Name: Enter the sender name you’d like to appear on your emails.
  2. Email: Your full email address.
  3. Password: Your email account password.
  4. Description: A description to identify the account.

Tap Next to continue.

You can now choose to configure an IMAP or POP account by tapping the respective tab. Your selection will be highlighted in blue.

For Incoming Mail Server configuration, enter the following details:

  1. Host Name: For POP or IMAP accounts, use mail.papamail.net.
  2. User Name: Your email account user name.
  3. Password: Your email account password.

For Outgoing Mail Server configuration, enter the following details:

  1. Host Name: For POP or IMAP accounts, use mail.papamail.net.
  2. User Name: Your email account user name.
  3. Password: Your email account password.

Tap Next to continue, then Save to verify the details entered.

You will be redirected to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen. Tap your newly created account to continue.

Scroll down and tap Advanced.

Enter the following details:

  1. Incoming settings: Ensure the Server Port is set to 995 for POP accounts, or 993 for IMAP accounts. Ensure Use SSL is selected.

Return to the previous menu by tapping the Account button. Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server and tap the SMTP entry with the host name of the server.

Enter the following details:

  1. Outgoing mail server: Ensure the server port is set to 465 for POP or IMAP accounts. Ensure Use SSL is selected.

Tap Done. The server details will now be checked and your email account should be available for use.

Synchronizing mail folders

With the account configured, the final step is to synchronize your folders between the email server and your device. To do so, from Home screen, tap the Mail icon.

You’ll be taken to your newly created Inbox. Tap < Mailboxes at the top of the screen.

Your mailboxes will now be downloaded from the server. They include Trash, Deleted Items, Junk Mail and Sent Items. We need to synchronize the Deleted Items and Sent Items folders.

Return to the Home screen and tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap your account.

In the screen that follows, tap your account once again.

15 - advanced

Tap Advanced.

Tap Sent Mailbox.

16 - sent

Tap Sent Items, ensuring that a checkmark appears.

17 - sent items

Tap < Advanced at the top of the screen to go back.

Now tap Deleted Mailbox.

18 - deleted

Tap Deleted Items in the screen that follows, ensuring that a checkmark appears.

19 - deleted items

Tap < Advanced at the top of the screen to go back.

Select Done to complete your configuration.
